WE THE PEOPLE...
We the people... In order to form a more perfect
police state, have abdicated our responsibilities and failed to check up
on our government.
We have failed to prosecute and punish elected
officials for their high crimes and misdemeanors. We have reelected
politicians that have taken dirty money from vile corporate
contributors.
We have the FINEST, Police State that money can buy.
WELCOME TO UTAH!
This is the place. The place where almost everyone has
their head in the desert sand. The trouble with having your head in the
sand though... is that your REAR END is up in the air. When that
happens, it's easy to get spanked. Or worse! You might get Straked... or
you might get a radioactive waste dump 20 miles upwind from your
hometown, Utah.
Utah... My Beloved Utah. When will you learn that Liberty
has a price, and that price, demands a commitment.
The price of Liberty, Brothers and Sisters is:

We The People...
A Requiem for the Republic: "Give us a
king!" (1 Samuel 8:5)
From: Roger I. Price
I apologize for using a Bible reference, so-called
church & state, you
understand, but many of the letters and articles
published in the Ogden
Valley News bring to mind the adage: "Be careful
what you ask for, you might get it!" as well as
"Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and
cheat a friend; do it in the name of Heaven, justify
it in the end.", the chorus of a 1969 song,
"One Tin Soldier". Christian houses of
"worship" dot the landscape, talk of good
"Christian" and/or "American"
values abound in the media, balancing against the
"why does anyone notice?" morality of public
persons and corrupt individuals (many of them elected
officials, arrogant "public servants",
lawyers, bankers, securities agents, et al.) sit in
the prime pews of their chosen church, synagogue, or
mosque, affecting piety!
The upcoming, 2008, election of a new President has
generated much rhetoric about Democratic and
Republican candidates in the guise of a two party
system. We no longer have a two party system. Our
country has, in the years since the Civil War,
devolved to a one party system which decries Liberty
and individuality. The National Socialist Party is
that one party and it has control of the nation. The
Democratic and Republican "Parties" are two
factions which fight to control the party, not unlike
Fatah and Hamas with the Palestinians. With FDRís
main streaming of Socialism and the infamous "a
switch in time saves nine," the Republic, with
its protection of Liberty through the rule of law,
became terminally ill! At some point since WWII,
during the interim congresses and presidencies,
assaulted by the Korean "police action," the
Viet Nam "conflict," the Bush I Gulf
"war," 9/11 aftermath, the
"Patriot" Act, the Bush II Iraq occupation,
public acceptance of mob rule by the majority and
other anti-Liberty campaigns, the Republic of the
United States succumbed. It lives on only in the
hearts and minds of the few who understand and love
Liberty. Socialism promotes a false sense of equality
and justice while demarcating a strict class system.
It requires a totalitarian government that demands
strict submission and obedience to appear successful
(review Germanys
history, 1930-1945). The "elite" amass power
and capital and they determine the fate of the working
class. The party allows only acceptable Republican or
Democratic players demonstrating "party"
fealty and suitable "party" subservience
from youth, to, despite public perception, achieve
elected office. In extreme moments of regional
rebellion, a Jesse Ventura may break the barriers, but
an annoyance for the party. The difference between the
two party factions is: the Republican favors Fascism
while the Democratic promotes a brand of Marxism. Both
wave the Stars & Stripes and display the Bible and
the U.S. Constitution at times, but ignore the true
principles, tone and tenor of each, claiming that
times have changed, the world is not the same now.
That is a Socialist lie. In reality, truth is eternal
and there is only truth or untruth. There is no grey
area, only black and white. A half-truth is a lie!
Individually or collectively Honesty, Honor, Liberty
and Justice exist; or there is dishonesty, dishonor,
slavery and injustice. Justice exists only if it is
evenly administered without regard for status:
financial, social, political, or moral! As for
separation of church and state, Truth and Justice are
independent of any persons perception of God: they are
simply higher planes of humanity which mankind may
attain. Totalitarianism controls masses of people
various ways, three of the most successful are: make
them ignorant, make them poor, and make them immobile.
Poverty and individual immobility encroach on more
people every day, while public ignorance is at an all
time high. We do not read unless the content is fluff,
porn, directed readings, or bias loaded memoirs and
opinions of some cleric, politician, or guru. We have
been conditioned not to think: we
must leave that to the Socialist elite. Socialist
control of our political and education systems has
created a "mommy will do it" false sense of
entitlement in U.S. residents, legal and illegal,
resulting in a government dependent society. Parents
no longer feel responsible for the care, support,
control and education of their own children. Far too
many young people have no clue concerning
independence, self-reliance, responsibility, honor,
honesty, or justice. Socialism
defines successful public education as teaching a
child to sit down, be
quiet, do whatever he or she is told, regurgitating
the proper programmed facts and figures when asked.
That is a good Socialist. Critically thinking or
questioning authority are punishable offenses. Some of
the best and brightest, because they know something is
wrong but they do not understand what, along with
those of the special "deprived" class,
become dropouts. We lose many talented, gifted people
to menial pursuits, while causing others to become
druggies, drunks, or criminals, thus creating a false
need for more behavior controls, more professional
Socialists, and more taxes for those who cannot afford
shelters. We have allowed our society to rise to the
height of mediocrity, the benchmark of Socialism. The
vast majority, if
not all, of the causes for our current problems as a
community, county,
state, or nation can be dropped at our own doorstep.
We either refuse, or are too fearful, to be
responsible for our own situation in life: we either
refuse, or are too fearful, to be free! Socialism has
taught our people that it is best to leave everything
to the "government"! Forget Liberty! Let the
Republic lie in state! Residents may complain about
rude county commissioners because a bigger fish gets a
special interest that infringes upon them. People may
blame too high taxation on elected persons and chide
everyone else for the loss of a stable environment and
open space through the removal of productive soil
from production and the use of natures water share for
sewers, lawns, golf courses and swimming pools. They
may curse God for wild grass and oak brush and flood
waters or land slides. They may move to rural areas
and decry the disappearance of the "rural"
atmosphere because of stores, office buildings, and
other amenities they bring with them, along with
drugs, crime, bureaucracy and police they demand
everyone else pay for. They may use tax money to
develop entertainment facilities, sports complexes,
parks and trail ways or other special interests
"for the good of the children" and
prostitute themselves for tourists dollars, then
complain about business development and crowded,
unsafe roads and insist that the
"government" pay to solve the problems. They
may "legally" tear down local and state
cultural boundaries in the name of development or
equality and erase U.S. borders for profit while
increasing the cost of living, at the same time
removing opportunity and living wages, in the name of
investment and for the pleasure of buying cheap junk
at a favorite big-box store. They may continue to
stick their nose into everyone else's business and
then wail for the "government" to punish
those who bite it off! They may act irresponsibly and
petition the government to have everyone pay for their
destroyed property, lost capital or even HIV/AIDS
cocktails and cures. They may think they deserve
extended mortality and receive "government"
funded
medications. The elite call it freedom, or
Christianity, or justice, but it
is neither one of those nor in keeping with
Constitutional principles. It
is Socialism! The National Socialist Party hides in
the shadows behind its factions because it is a thief,
a liar and a slaver. It steals the will and strength
of the people while it feeds greed, vanity, jealousy
and prejudice to pit neighbor against neighbor, thus
weakening social ties to empower itself. It is
anti-Liberty, anti-individuality, anti-American and,
for those who claim to believe, it is anti-Christ.
However, it is what the people have asked for, it is
democracy! I mourn the Republic.

To the editor:
I have one quibble with Ben Fulton's column ["Speed
Limit," Note From the Editor, Dec. 21, City Weekly]
regarding cannabis compared with tobacco: Asthma is a
qualifying disease under California's Compassionate Use
Act.
Marijuana is "darned hard on your lungs?" Hardly.
This boomer has enjoyed it often, since 1968. Please see
the latest UC/Tashkin study for evidence that smoking
cannabis does not cause and may even prevent cancer.
That same study found conclusive evidence of tobacco's
carcinogenic effects.
The Schedule I status of cannabis is indeed bizarre,
particularly when methamphetamine, morphine, and
Fentanyl are all Schedule II. Kind of hard to explain
the existence of Schedule III Marinol, eh?
It is well past time to repair the 1970 Controlled
Substances Act--ideally, to remove cannabis from it
entirely and end the obscene raids by the DEA upon
cannabis patients and our providers.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION - Stealing Utah Blind
"Stealing UTAH Blind"
From: Mark Burnside (email on file)
Sent: 15 January 2006
Subject: Political and Social Commentary
Illegal is illegal, and that's the fact this whole issue boils down to. All Illegal Aliens are criminals by definition. They
entered this country and state with the intent to take jobs, and steal services, many came with the intent to smuggle drugs and commit violent crimes.
Make them pay for the work they stole, Make them pay for government services they defrauded us of, make them pay for
the schools whose resources they deplete, the roads they use without paying for, the medical services they steal from government and private sources, make them pay for the burden on Law Enforcement and
Corrections that they truly are. Illegal Aliens erode our civil liberties and steal our opportunity to make a fair wage.
THEY ARE USING THE FORCE OF OUR OWN GOVERNMENT TO STEAL US BLIND. ILLEGAL ALIENS caught here should be fined then
expelled from the country. That fine should be the sum total of every asset they have accumulated. IT IS ONLY FAIR THAT THEY PAY THE
CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR CRIMES AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT AND LEGAL CITIZENS AND RESIDENTS OF UTAH. WE MUST REMOVE THE INCENTIVES THAT BRING THEM HERE.
As it stands now, the government of Utah and of the United States is TAXING LEGAL ALIENS, and LEGAL CITIZENS of Utah to pay for all the services used by, stolen
by, or defrauded by the Illegal Population. EMPLOYERS WHO HIRE ILLEGAL ALIENS SHOULD BE FINED $1,000 A DAY for each and every instance, and each and every day of occurrence. When we make it a felony to wire
more than $20.00 a month to Mexico we will be removing the incentive for them to steal from us.
ONLY WHEN WE MAKE THESE CRIMINALS PAY WILL THEY GET THE MESSAGE THAT WE ARE SERIOUS. When we start seeing as many Mexicans trying to flee south with their loot,
as we are now seeing trying to sneak in illegally, then and only then will we know that the LAWS, THE ENFORCEMENT OF THOSE LAWS, and other measures taken are beginning to take effect. If we do not see this, then
the laws we impose and the measures we take to enforce those laws are still inadequate.
People like George Bush & John Kerry, support illegal aliens in this country because these folks who consider themselves to be "upper crust" need and want cheap
domestic servants. If you think G.B. cleans his own toilet, or does his own laundry, or cooks his own food, think again. Some Mexican does it. American citizens are willing to do these jobs, BUT ONLY FOR A FAIR
WAGE. The so called "Upper Crust" is not willing to play fair or PAY FAIR. That is why THE SOUTH had slavery and that is why they NOW hire illegal aliens instead, and pay them cash under the table.
These elitists need to have a certain percent of AMERICAN CITIZENS out of work and indebt to grease the wheels of American Patronage. If they can import cheep
industrial labor under similar circumstances they can undermine and defeat Americas Labor and Trade Unions. Thus eventually forcing working Americans into poverty, servitude and BONDAGE. If the illegal Alien
doesn't do as he or she is told, or gets uppity, they are simply arrested or killed and dumped in the streets of a Latino or black neighborhood. Local police ascribe the violence to Mexican Drug Gangs or black
drug gangs and the PATRON just gets another one (an illegal alien) for $10 an hour the next day.

"Yes," says Dr. Ken Larsen,
"You can fight City Hall and win!"
Wednesday morning, 9-12, Dr. Larsen sat
patiently for several hours while other cases were heard. He had in his hand a
copy of the State Constitution and was ready to quote Article I,
Section 23, forbidding any law granting special privilege or immunity. He
believed the City's Ordinance against smoking tobacco at the Liberty
Park Drum Circle violated this section on both racial and religious lines.
When Larsen's case was called up, the City said
they were not yet prepared to debate the Constitutionality of this
ordinance. When asked if they knew the case was scheduled for this day, they
answered in the affirmative and suggested a dismissal. Larsen objected. He did
not want to walk away from this fight and was prepared to take it up the
line of appeals. Judge Jeanne M. Robison said she understood his
plight, but the case was dismissed and Larsen left the Salt Lake City
Justice Court -- Victorious!
Later, Larsen speculated that the City had read
his reports and realized this law was constitutionally flawed on several
counts. Larsen further speculated that there would be no more citations
at the Drum Circle for smoking tobacco, and added that he would be
available to assist any victims of this unconstitutional law.

Please, stop the war in Iran.
Pax Americana?
I have heard believable evidence that there is no way to stop the planned
massive attack on Iran.
Also, it is possible that another terrorist attack in America will be
staged to justify the attack.
The Democrats control Congress. They have the constitutional power and
responsibility to decide when and where we go to war. If they do nothing
to stop this mess, it will fall upon the American People to abandon the
R's
and D's. It will be time to find an alternative political solution. I
think we need some impeachments at the top.
Apparently, the Administration is also planning to install Martial Law in
America to control those who disagree. The time has come. This might be
the last chance for the People to restore Americanism in the spirit of the
Founders. I don't want violence. I want to do it with votes. I want
those votes to be honestly counted. I want to be Governor of Utah in
2009.
I want to bring the State and Federal Constitutioms back to America.
Ask yourself how you can trust the Republican or Democratic candidates not
to allow the national mess we are about to experience. Seriously consider
alternative parties, such as the Personal Choice Party in Utah.

Ken Larsen 13 June 2007
Last Sunday, at the Liberty Park Drum Circle, I passed out a couple of
dozen plastic cups for cleaning up cigarette butts. Everyone was very
cooperative. They want to show the City Council that they really mean
it when they say "no butt left behind." Finally, the area was so
clean I could not find any more butts to pick up. I told a couple of
policemen that we want to cooperate. The anti-smoking law provides an
exception for bona fide religious usage. Virtually everyone at the
Drum Circle agrees that the Drum Circle is a spiritual experience.
Those who smoke claim that smoking adds to the spiritual power of the
Circle. I believe it is appropriate for the City Council to declare
the Drum Circle a bona fide religion and tolerate tobacco smoking at
or within a hundred yards of the
Circle. We are doing everything we can to peacefully cooperate.
Please respect our pursuit of spiritual happiness in the spirit of the
Founders.
Thank You.

Dear Mayor and City Council,
The City Ordinance on smoking in Liberty Park makes a distinct
exception for bona fide religions.
Now the question is whether the Circle is a bona fide religion. The
question before that is "Who decides if an activity is a bona fide
religion.? America was founded by European refugees whose governments
decided their religion was not "bona fide."
Utah was founded by refugees from several states, including Missouri
and Illinois, whose governments decided their religion was not "bona
fide."
If we have the inalienable right to the pursuit of happiness, as long
as we do not cause harm, and if the sole purpose of government is to
protect our rights, then, whatever we believe can make us happy
spiritually is a "bonafide" religion. If the government makes that
decision, they are in
violation of their oath to obey the State Constitution which states,
"All men have the inherent and inalienable right to . . . to worship
according to the dictates of their consciences . . . being responsible
for the abuse of that right." Thus, if the people at the Drum Circle
believe drumming and smoking enhances their spiritual pursuit of
happiness, the government
does not have the Constitutional authority to declare that activity as
anything but a "bona fide" religion.
Christianity was a bona fide religion before Christ began teaching.
Mormonism was a bona fide religion when Joseph Smith came out of the
grove. It is the duty of the government to secure the inalienable
rights of the people. It is the duty of the people to keep the
government in line.
Let's choose principle over power.
Thank you,

Require Drug Tests for
Public Aid
David Miller
January 13, 2007
The Herald Journal
To the editor:
I have a question not only for Cache County but for the entire
state of Utah. Like a lot of people in this state, I have a job. I
go to work, they pay me, I pay my taxes and the government
distributes my taxes as they see fit. In order for me to get that
paycheck I am required to pass a random urine test, which I have
no problem with.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes
to people who don’t have to pass a urine test. Shouldn’t one have
to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to
pass one to go earn it for them?
Please understand I have nothing against helping people get
back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with
helping someone sit on their butt. Could you imagine how much
money the state would save if people were required to pass a urine
test to get a public assistance check?
David Miller
Logan
FROM THE EDITOR:
Yes David Miller we know exactly
how much money the state would save. the answer is ZERO, nothing,
nada. Your proposal would jack up taxes that are already too high.
We have a better idea... How about you go tell your boss that your
rights are being violated. TELL HIM THAT
URINE TESTING REALLY
PISSES YOU OFF, That you are a human being and should
not be subjected to the abuse of drug testing.
Unfortunately you are such a self
centered DUMB-ASS that all you want to do is inflict additional
misery onto people that are already suffering more than you ever
have, or could possibly even imagine. People on the bottom rung of
society, most from no action of their own, but only from
misfortune. Or because some Drunken Jack-Ass Cowboy from Cache
Valley cripples them in a traffic accident.
KICK THEM WHILE THEY ARE DOWN
David Miller of Logan, Utah. Show Jesus what you really feel about
the Poor and Downtrodden, KICK THEM IN THE FACE, Laugh at them,
Blame them for your problems. It is much easier that way,
especially for non-thinkers and people with no compassion.
Call the neighbors! Everyone grab
a stone! Let's stone them to death. BUT IF YOU DO... DO IT QUICK!
Quickly, quickly before Jesus sees us doing it. Because we all
know what Jesus said to the adulteress, and aren't most welfare
recipients unwed mothers?
"WOMAN!
WHERE ARE THOSE THAT CONDEMN THEE? NEITHER DO I CONDEMN THEE. GO
THY WAY AND SIN NO MORE."

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!
From: Kim Thedell (email on file)
Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2006
Subject: Growing Up
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and
didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or
cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and
NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop
with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to
solve the problem. We did not have PlayStations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no
personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us
forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them! Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who
didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers
and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! And YOU are one of
them!
CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good. And while you are at
it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!
